Abstract
This book is the Persian translation of the authoritative work "Principles of Polymer Design and Synthesis" by Professor Wei-Fang Su of National Taiwan University. It serves as a comprehensive and up-to-date resource for undergraduate and graduate students in polymer chemistry, a dynamic and critically important field with applications spanning water treatment, medicine, automotive, petrochemicals, and more.
The book is systematically structured into two logical parts across eleven chapters:
Part 1 (Chapters 1-5): Focuses on the fundamental characterization and properties of polymers, covering their physicochemical and mechanical behaviors, as well as essential identification techniques.
Part 2 (Chapters 6-11): Delves into the core principles of polymerization reactions. This section provides a detailed exploration of step-growth polymerization, radical chain polymerization, ionic chain polymerization, chain copolymerization, coordination polymerization, and ring-opening polymerization.
Recognized as one of the most complete texts in the field, this volume thoroughly examines all aspects of polymer design and synthesis. The translation has been meticulously performed, prioritizing clarity and using the most accurate Persian equivalents, with original English terms provided as footnotes where necessary for precision.
This book is an invaluable textbook for students and a key reference for anyone seeking a deep and practical understanding of how to design and synthesize polymeric materials.
