Abstract

This book is written in 8 chapters. In the first chapter, a short introduction to crystallography and a brief introduction to crystal systems, Miller's indices and X-ray methods are given. In the second chapter, the chemistry of clusters is explained. The third chapter is dedicated to oxidation-reduction chemistry, and this issue is investigated from the point of view of inorganic chemistry. In chapter 4, the chemistry of metallic solids, alloys, intermetallic compounds and finally semiconductors and some of their applications in industries have been investigated. Chapter 5 specifically and in detail examines non-stoichiometric compounds, solid electrolytes, superconductors, chemistry of layered solid (ionic) compounds and some of their applications. In Chapter 6, some new scientific fields of inorganic chemistry such as molecular sieves, metal-organic compounds (MOFs), metal hydrides, various carbon allotropes, especially fluorenes and their inorganic compounds, one-dimensional metals, molecular magnetism, mineral liquid crystals and two-dimensional layered compounds (MXenes) and some of their applications have been discussed. In Chapter 7, a brief discussion of mineral biochemistry, such as biochemical ligands, iron-sulfur clusters, cofactors, siderophores, dioxygen carriers and biological electron transport is given. In chapter 8, a brief summary of nanochemistry, nano effects and properties of nano materials, the preparation of some nanocatalysts and their catalytic properties have been examined.
